Mohammad, one of the employees, was really kind, but the lodge itself was nowhere near what we'd been sold. The whole flat was grimy, the premises felt close to falling apart, and the bed was uncomfortable and squeaked along with everything else. There was a strong smell of pot for nearly the whole stay. The air was musty and hard to breathe at night. On the top floor, at least, the shower only gave us warm water for about ten seconds before going freezing cold, so I had to finish washing in the sink. The lodge didn't feel liveable.

The wifi was fast and reliable, and the kitchen was clean and practical. The bathroom was basic but did its job, and the shower warmed up quickly. The room and bed were just big enough to be practical and comfortable. It's affordable, comfortable enough, and I'd like to stay again next time I'm in London.

The room was simple and cosy, and the service was top notch. We didn't have a plug adapter for English sockets, and the staff didn't have one either, but someone went to get one for us. Five minutes later, we had it. After a day exploring the city, coming back felt like coming home, not returning to a hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I can recommend the place 100 percent. It'll stay in your memory, and you won't regret booking.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and they made us feel at home, but I doubt I'll return. We hadn't realised the bathroom was communal, which wasn't ideal with my IBS. There was no sign outside, so the place looked like a run-down house and was difficult to find. They're doing maintenance work now, which should improve its appearance.

The place was clean and decent value, but basic, with thin walls. It's a compact house, and the single room had a memory foam mattress and a child-size cupboard. The small booking deposit was taken by card, with the remaining balance due in cash on arrival. Reception is just a little desk under the stairs. Definitely not a four-star hotel, lol.
