Putera Puteri Residence

We stayed in room 6 on Saturday, and the shower clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly for a while. There was hair on the floor and orange-pink staining around the shower and tiles. The air vent on the ceiling was covered in a thick layer of grey dust, so it didn’t look as though the system had been cleaned either. The window barely insulated the room. Even shut, it felt open because we could hear people talking in the street and the room was so cold. We contacted the administration and got no response. Do yourself a favor and don’t book here.

The hotel took until the next day to reply after we reported the room, and now they’re ignoring my refund request, which I’ve been trying to sort out for a week. The bedspread was torn with a big hole. Our room hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived: there was hair in the shower and on the floor, spit marks on the mirror, and soap residue all over the sink, towel holder and other surfaces. A terrible experience.

The wifi was my one real gripe. It kept cutting out and was unreliable throughout my three nights. Otherwise, good value, with helpful staff, including Abi, a roomy holding area, and a reasonable, comfortable room for a solo traveler. The Paddington location was perfect.

There’s no lift, and my room was four flights up. The room itself was closet-sized with no space to hang or store clothes, and the shower was tiny. I wouldn’t stay here again.
