Royal Guest House

We barely spent time in the room because we were out exploring, so its small size didn’t bother us, and it was comfortable. The main letdown was breakfast. It was free, but poor enough that we went to a cafe every morning instead. Some fresh fruit, like bananas or apples, would help. The location worked really well for us: quiet and away from the Houses of Parliament bustle, but close to the tube for a quick ride in. There were also great restaurants nearby. The issues were minor overall, and we’d happily stay again.

The room was small, but comfortable and modern, and easy to move around in. I was there for seven nights and wasn’t planning to spend all day indoors anyway. It was very clean, and the service was pleasing. I’d definitely come back.

The room itself was great, with a very good bed and bathroom, but there’s constant traffic on the street because of the hotel’s location, and it gets noisy. I also found the receptionists quite rude. They seemed not to understand that they’re there for guests around the clock. One shouted at me for checking in at 11:30 PM and wouldn’t give me the luggage I’d left earlier that morning.

Everything was clean and tidy, and the staff clearly worked hard to make the place feel homely. The service was lovely, and although breakfast was basic, everything served was delicious. There’s a bus station and a supermarket nearby, which makes the location handy. The one thing I’d change is the Wi-Fi. The signal didn’t reach our room.
