Be careful! The room was far smaller than the pictures showed. There was barely room to move: we had to lift our bags over the bed to get them to the other side, otherwise we couldn’t shut the door or reach the bathroom. They charged a 100 deposit that you don’t get back. Reception was extremely rude, and communication was poor. You weren’t allowed to ask questions for clarification. When I asked how we could make sure our luggage was safe after leaving it at reception, they said, “TaKe YoUr BaGs” in a really degrading way. They attach a number to the bags, so anyone could take one of your belongings without issue, and they don’t seem to intend to stop them. On a non-refundable booking, say goodbye to your deposit.

We booked St Mark Hotel (london) through Hotels.com for April 11 to April 13 2026, but left the same day to find somewhere else. The room was very small and didn’t meet our expectations or seem suitable for two people. The receptionist, an older man without a name badge, was unprofessional and had a bad attitude. He didn’t try to help or find a solution, just kept saying we’d have to pay extra for a better room. Even though we chose not to stay, they took a £100 deposit. When we asked for our money back, he refused and said we wouldn’t get a refund, claiming it was our fault. The service and the way the situation was handled made for a very negative experience. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

My partner had pre-authorised his card, but the receptionist, Ibram, still wouldn’t let me into the room until he arrived. While I waited, I wasn’t offered a seat, and when I sat down I got a stink eye. The check-in and customer service were shocking. Avoid this place. There are much better hotels nearby.

We were only a short Tube ride from central London, and the hotel itself was fantastic. The room looked stunning, especially for such a reasonable price, and there was a good quality iron in it to use. I’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone. It was really beautiful.
