Talehay Cottages

We had a great week at the lodge, exploring the area, and would return. The cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable. The owner was very friendly, greeted us when we arrived and shared plenty of local information. It was a lovely touch to find a tray of goodies waiting for us: scones, jam, cream, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk. The grounds are beautiful, with a fabulous field where dogs are welcome. There’s also a local shop for basics. We stayed with our dog in August 2024.

The large enclosed field behind the grounds of Telehay was fantastic for letting our dog off the lead to play fetch. The grounds are beautiful, and the owners were friendly. We stayed in The Coach House, a lovely little base for exploring this part of Cornwall, with great amenities and a really clean interior.

Our hosts gave us such a warm welcome, with excellent goodies we hadn’t expected and lots of helpful local advice. The cottage was immaculate, and it was clear that a lot of care and love had gone into its design. It even had every kind of kitchenware you could think of. This was easily the best place we’ve ever stayed. On our first trip to Cornwall, it was the perfect place to relax at the end of each day, provided you drive. It also put us in a good spot to explore stunning places nearby and further afield. You’ve done a fantastic job, and I’d highly recommend a stay. I know where I hope to retire now! Haha.

The little apartment by the gate was a lovely place to stay. It had everything we needed and was nicely decorated. The host, who lives on site, welcomed us, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
