Thanks to all the staff here. It's rare to stay somewhere that makes you feel like a guest in a friend's home, but they made us feel so welcome. We had some issues with the first room, which is understandable in a 280-year-old pub, and they moved us quickly to another room. Four stars overall, but six for the friendly service and great pub grub.

We ended up at The Crown at short notice on New Year's Eve after another venue let us down. The service and food were excellent and very good value. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly, and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely recommend it to friends and family in the area.

For £13, I expected a decent margarita, but this one tasted cheap and was very disappointing. Pub pizzas have improved a lot, so this seemed almost certainly frozen. I'm usually a bit of a pizza connoisseur and order a margarita as my test. The pub itself is reasonable for a pint, though.

We spent two nights at the Crown and felt welcome as soon as we walked into the pub. The room was roomy, clean and comfortable, especially the bed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a great selection and was excellent, and we enjoyed an excellent Sunday dinner too. We hope to come back soon and wish Jo and Paul all the best.

We've been in a few times while staying nearby. On this visit we shared a pizza and halloumi fries with our beers, both were gorgeous, hot and tasty. The staff made us feel very welcome with their warm, friendly hospitality. Definitely worth stopping by.
