The shower and bathroom were excellent, and the bed was one of the most relaxing hotel beds I’ve slept in. The wireless bedside chargers were a really nice touch. I also had fun with the vinyl player and guitar in the room. Doghouse Hotel is the sixth Manchester hotel I’ve reviewed, and I’d wanted to stay here for a while. The room was good and fairly priced, which is hard to find in Manchester. The minibar was the best stocked I’ve seen, with lots of good quality options at fair prices. The hotdogs were also good value for the quality, but there’s no sign saying what comes with them, and that should be changed. The TV channels were basic, and some didn’t work. This is only the second hotel I’ve stayed in without a smart TV. The soundbar wouldn’t connect to my phone either. The left window wouldn’t open, and I wasn’t sure how to use the AC or whether it was cooling the room. Thankfully, staff remotely lowered the temperature. If you leave the curtains open, nearby buildings may be able to see into the room. I’m not sure whether the windows are one way. I’m also noticing more hotels don’t provide hot chocolate pouches. I spoke with staff about the doors, and I still think it’s a security issue. The hotel doors close behind you, but unless you pull them shut, the electric strike doesn’t engage and the door can be pushed open. There’s no notice explaining this, and a hotel door shouldn’t need to be pulled shut. Staff said it may be because of the frame.

We enjoyed our stay, and the staff were really friendly, but the room didn’t feel worth the prices, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. The towels were very thin and worn, and there was only one mirror, in the bathroom, with no socket nearby to use a hairdryer. For the price, it would have been nice to get some of the minibar snacks or biscuits with the tea and coffee. Check-in and checkout felt very casual. No one asked how we’d found the stay or room, and we weren’t told the checkout time.

After a long wait for food and having to send something back, the manager came over on his own, apologised, and sorted it out. We got desserts and a pretty hefty discount. He spent time chatting with us and was really friendly. Great customer service, and a great visit. I’ll be back next time I’m in Manchester.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the rooms had everything we needed for a short break. We stayed two nights and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Manchester. The location is great, close to lots of shops and amenities.

I love the BrewDog hotel. The location and vibe are brilliant, and the room was amazing. I paid £25 for a celebration package for my wife’s birthday, but it hadn’t been set up in the room, which was annoying after spending that much. When I spoke with the staff, they gave me a full refund and the items from the package too.
