We went for the bank holiday weekend, me, my partner and two children, and had a good time. The price was good, the staff were lovely and it’s close to the centre, beach, shops, cafes and nightclubs. The room was basic but clean enough. The owner was friendly and laid-back, though strict about the rules, and good fun. There’s a downstairs bar, games room with pool and snooker, music, and an eating area. Kid-friendly too. The Merlin works if you want to relax, have fun and party, or just put your feet up.

The Merlin is just a few steps from the restaurants and market, which is well worth a wander. I’ve stayed at a number of hotels in England, and its owner is among the friendliest people I’ve met, with a lot of knowledge. A real gem in Wiltshire and a must if you’re thinking of visiting Marlborough.

We needed somewhere to sleep after going to a wedding and came across Merlin Hotel without expecting much. It turned out to be beautiful, and the simple feel showed that less can be more. We were greeted at reception with a smile, and the room was very clean. A lovely place to stay. 😀
