Wainstones Hotel

Kaz remembered us when we came back a few weeks later for our Valentine's night, which made the visit feel extra personal. We'd enjoyed our first night away so much that we booked the next day for another stay. On that first visit, Kaz gave us such a lovely welcome and really made the experience for me and my boyfriend. The hotel is gorgeous, and the staff and food were lovely. I think it's an amazing place to stay.

The lounge is a nice place to unwind after travelling, and the layout is pleasant. The cafe on the side looks great too. The hotel and rooms were extremely clean, and breakfast had plenty of choice and was very good. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We visit the area often, and I'm glad I found this hotel. I'd highly recommend it if you're staying nearby. See you again soon, and many thanks.

The chicken and mushroom pie is winning our Coast to Coast walk's best pie contest so far. It was delicious, especially the pastry, and the food and service were both excellent. Every member of staff was friendly and attentive. We stayed one night with our dog, who had her own bed, bowls, and treats. The hotel is very dog friendly. Caroline warmly welcomed us and showed us to a stunning room, with modern decor and a beautiful ensuite with a bath, shower, and underfloor heating. Earlier, the lovely Gavin had picked us up from the trail in the hotel minibus. A fellow walker had told us to expect great things, and we weren't disappointed. We've already decided to return and use the hotel as a base for more walks in the area. Highly recommend.

The evening was lovely, and the atmosphere was quiet, welcoming, and friendly. We were impressed by the little touches too, from bottled water and cutlery already set out on the table to scented toilets with small hand towels. The drinks selection was broad and reasonably priced, and the menu had a good range at fair prices. My wife and I ate here on Tuesday 18/11/25, after the refurbishment, which looks amazing. The food was high quality, cooked perfectly, served hot and on time. The chef clearly knows what they're doing. The staff were brilliant, attentive, friendly, helpful, and professional. They treated us with the courtesy customers used to receive, rather than like cattle. Second to none. I'd recommend Wainstones 100% out of 100%. Thank you for a wonderful evening. My one criticism is that the car park could use better lighting at night.
