Premier Inn Milton Keynes - Willen Lake

The location is great, but the room and amenities need a closer check. The shower was stuck on full heat and covered in limescale, and the hair dryer kept cutting out. Parking has gone up to £9.40 a night from £7.40 just two weeks ago.

We had a fantastic bed and a really big, clean room, but what made the two nights was the people. Everyone on staff was genuinely sound, especially Janos, who was brilliant and so helpful. It’s right by the lake, lovely for a walk. Just remember to pay the parking charge straight away.

My room was immaculate and modern, and the service and location were excellent. Reception staff were friendly, and when I left my toothbrush charger behind, they tried hard to find one even though there wasn’t one in lost property. My workmates stayed four nights while I was there for two. I lost a star because my company permits parking expenses, but parking is handled by another company, so I had to pay first and claim it back. There are no opening windows, and the air-conditioning only goes down to 19C, so I had to sleep raw. I’d stay again, though it might not be my first choice for those reasons.

Premier Plus rooms are great, and this was another good stay at the Willen Lake Premier Inn. Pauline and the other reception staff deserve a special mention for being welcoming, friendly and providing great customer service.
