Pebble Beach

Pebble Beach was such a perfect find by the sea, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I was travelling alone, and from parking the car onward everything went smoothly. The sunny day and mellow DJ music at the outdoor Sunset Bar, overlooking the sea, made a lovely welcome. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in, and I was really pleased with my spotless room. The furniture, fittings, linen and towels were all very high quality. I took a beach walk to watch the sunset, then had dinner from the Sunset Bar menu in the restaurant. The ingredients were very good and the food was excellent. The staff were professional and friendly too. Jake deserves a special mention for taking time to chat with me. I've stayed at Pebble Beach three times now for work, and it feels like being abroad. The spectacular view brings Fuerteventura to mind. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and though the bathroom looks a little old-fashioned, it has everything you need and lovely toiletries. Sam, the restaurant manager, made me feel at home with such a warm welcome. Service there is fantastic. This time my seabass arrived within five minutes and was delicious and fresh, and the cocktail was divine. Breakfast on the terrace with a sea view was amazing too. My eggs Benedict and iced latte were just right. Nothing beats breakfast with that view. Highly recommend.

The location is lovely and the service was great, but the food felt overpriced for what arrived. More than £10 for three small pancakes and a couple of bits of bacon was disappointing. I expected more, especially when the full breakfast was only £2 extra.

We'd been here for a few days and decided to have a nice meal on our last night. Mum checked with a young man that our fur baby could come in, and he said yes, adding that they even sold dog treats. She gave us the thumbs up from the car, so we went into the restaurant, which was barely a quarter full. An older man greeted us and asked if we'd booked. We hadn't. He said they had music that night and needed the table, so we left. They won't be getting any of my money on future visits to see family.
