Premier Inn Newcastle Under Lyme

After hours of driving around the country for work, I arrived feeling worn out. Emma welcomed me with warmth and professionalism, helped make check-in easy, and was genuinely lovely. Her attitude lifted my mood. It was only a one-night work stop, but she made this hotel stand out from everywhere else I stayed this week. Excellent service and a real credit to the hotel. Thanks, Emma, for making the journey feel worthwhile.

The room and bar were nice, and the steak and cheesecake were both lovely. I was only there for a one-night work stopover. My one gripe is the £15 charge for checking in early at 1:45pm, before the 3pm check-in time. I'm still not sure what the fee was for when the receptionist simply handed me the keys and the room was obviously ready. It put a blot on an otherwise lovely stay, and I'm still not over it.

The food was brilliant, fresh and tasty, and came with a smile. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. We had a good stay at Premier Inn overall, though there were a couple of problems. Our room smelled noticeably of smoke, which was disappointing when we expected it to be fresh and clean. The door also had no deadlock. With our curious 3-year-old there, that felt like a safety oversight, so I wedged a chair against it to stop her wandering out. Even with those issues, the good parts outweighed the bad and we'd consider staying again, hopefully in a smoke-free room with a more secure door.

We enjoyed all the dishes at the restaurant on both evenings. The room was pretty standard, but the staff were outstanding and made this a place I'd recommend. Everyone was super friendly and attentive, and Tommy was particularly welcoming and accommodating when our rooms weren't ready on arrival.
