The room was clean and reasonably presented, and Friday's meal was decent. We booked two nights after seeing mostly positive reviews, as we often stay in Norfolk and like trying different places. There was no cooked breakfast, which we hadn't expected, and instead we were given a small bag of snacks. On Saturday evening we ate Indian food elsewhere, so we didn't see staff again until checkout Sunday. We said good morning to two women in the pub, but they barely looked at us or acknowledged us. There was no goodbye or question about our stay. My partner said he'd left the key on the bar, where it had been collected on Friday, and we went to get coffee opposite before driving home. Then Peter called asking where the key was. My partner explained where it was, and Peter hung up. My partner went back in to ask whether he'd found it. Peter said yes, and when my partner said hanging up had seemed rude, Peter said he'd lost signal. Parking is an issue, and after check-in the staff didn't seem customer-focused. We wouldn't return or recommend it to friends. We're not hard to please and have stayed at lots of pubs around Norfolk, but this place wasn't for us. We still had a lovely weekend in Norfolk, made even better by the sunshine.

There was plenty to enjoy in the different bars, from games to sports on TV, and the food was excellent. The staff were charming and very helpful. It's a historic coaching inn, restored with care and fitted out with modern comforts and style. Our room had everything we needed, and the excellent packed breakfast could be eaten in the room or taken along. A great fit if you like history alongside modern accommodation.

We came for a meal and a game of pool, and the pool table was a real highlight since they're hard to find these days. The pub has a genuine atmosphere, plenty of room inside and a large garden, plus sports on the TVs. Food and drink were great, and service was friendly and quick. It's fairly central, next to long-stay car parks.

We were exhausted from a walking holiday, and the disco on Saturday kept going until 12.45, even though we thought it would finish at 11. For us, the King's Arms was a disaster. The evening food was good, but we'd booked bed and breakfast and only found out after paying that breakfast wasn't provided. Instead, they'd left a complimentary bag of things we wouldn't choose to eat.
