The beef Sunday roast was a generous plateful for just £8.50, and we both really enjoyed it. The food is straightforward, home-style fare rather than anything fancy, and the service was excellent. There are plenty of reasonably priced dishes from different cuisines, plus a good choice of draft beers. I had a pint of guest ale and enjoyed it. The pub has an old-fashioned look, from the maroon patterned carpet to the ornate gold-framed paintings. It gave me a warm, nostalgic feeling, like dinner at my auntie Rita's years ago. That's part of its character, not a complaint. We stopped in for Sunday lunch and had a really nice roast. I wouldn't pick it for a romantic meal, but I'd recommend it for relaxed, good-value food.

After lunch, my partner and I relaxed in the very pleasant, private beer garden. We'd come to this beautifully kept pub for a meal and felt welcome from the start. The thatched roof is wonderful, and the bar and restaurant staff were genuinely lovely, caring, and attentive. The food was exceptional. This hidden gem deserves more than 11 out of 10, don't miss the chance to visit.

The setting is lovely, with a quaint exterior and old-fashioned interior. The pub's in a great location, and its peaceful beer garden is a good size, with a bouncy castle for kids. There's a small range of ales alongside lagers and the usual pub drinks. The menu has plenty of familiar pub-food choices, but the meal fell short of the standard I expected and was a little lacking in flavour.

The meal was just right, beautifully presented and delicious, and we never felt rushed or left waiting despite how busy it was. After a few days travelling on the canal, we came ashore to eat and walked about 10 minutes along a busy road. The lovely staff gave us a warm welcome. We'd try this place again if we're back in the area.

My family loves this charming little pub. The food is consistently good, and the portions are huge, even for big eaters. Make sure to try the homemade apple pie with lots of custard. In summer, the garden bouncy castle is a nice treat for families with little kids. Honestly, I wasn't going to say anything because we should probably keep this place a bit of a secret.
