We arrived during Storm Amy to find no electricity and no heating in the house. There were no candles, torch, or extra duvet, and it seemed there'd been no preparation for a power cut. The hosts didn't do anything to help. The main door also has a problem, so you have to message them to open it. The reception felt very bad and rude. It wasn't an ideal stay, especially compared with how welcoming my other stay in Scotland was.

There was a safe place to leave my bicycle, and the single room was very nice. I stayed one night during a solo cycling trip and would definitely recommend spending a night here, or even better, two.

The place was very quiet and had great views. The beds were really comfortable, and each room had a sink, though only one of ours had a TV. Having to share a bathroom with all the guests was the downside.

Everyone, including the other guests, was very polite, and the place was quiet. I loved the building's style and interior, with all its cosy old things, and our room had the best window view ever. We only realized there wasn't a private bathroom when we got there, but it wasn't a problem; there was a sink in the room. We usually sleep with the window open a little, but a note warned against doing that because it could cause damage.

The view from Dunrigh Guesthouse is great, and it's an easy walk down the hill into downtown Oban. Inside is much better than the outside. Our room was comfortable and clean, though it could use some towel racks. If you're driving, parking can be tricky because of a low wall.
