Travelodge Bristol Filton

The traffic island location looked like a terrible idea, but the room was quiet even through the morning rush hour, thanks to the soundproof windows. It was clean and nicely equipped too, and I slept really well. Breakfast was all-you-can-eat English style, so I was set for my business meeting. Costa and Subway are next door, with a small Lidl across the road, plenty of choice nearby. I was very happy and would stay again. I might try the evening meals next time.

There was enough space to be comfortable, and the room was clean and well looked after. The bed felt cozy, the linens were fresh, and the bathroom was tidy with the basic amenities.

The room was clean and quiet, but the coffee in it was undrinkable. The location is almost on a traffic island. Parking was adequate once Reception showed me where the overflow spaces were, and the Reception staff were excellent. The cafe let the stay down: breakfast items had run out, and we had to ask four times. Some replies were abrupt, nearly rude. The coffee machine was out of order too. They supplied hot water and sachets of instant coffee, but that wasn't adequate.

The boiler kept making noise, so I didn't sleep well. We paid a little extra for a super room, but there wasn't anything extra or super about it: no extra pillows, watered-down shower gel and hand wash, and a coffee machine that made awful coffee. Still, it did the job as a bed for the night.
