Tynedale Guest House

Deena welcomed us when we stopped here overnight on our cycle to John O’Grouts, and safely put our bikes away. The room was small but comfortable enough. There was no ensuite, though we had the nearby hall bathroom to ourselves. Breakfast was fine, but we don't have the full English, just eggs, and unfortunately they were overcooked. Deepa was very nice and clearly wanted to make our stay pleasant. I'd stay again, though I'd have rated it higher if the room were a bit larger and had an ensuite.

The beds were comfortable and we all slept well after a nice dinner at the local Wetherspoons. The owners were lovely to talk to when we arrived, and the rooms were up to the standard you'd expect for the price. I had a full English, my partner chose a vegetarian breakfast, and we both enjoyed them. We also had coffee and orange juice, and one owner checked if we wanted refills. I stayed one night with my partner and brother in law. His larger room had a sink and bath robes, with a private bathroom down the hall that had a large shower and sink. My room had a larger bed and a chair by a window facing the street, which could get noisy if left open. A sliding door separated the shower and toilet facilities for some privacy when sharing the room. I'd stay again for the nice facilities and lovely owners. There aren't many parking spaces, so you may need to coordinate with other guests to move cars. With two cars, parking was manageable.

We arrived at 1am instead of 10pm after getting delayed, and the hosts still welcomed us with a smile. Breakfast in the morning was amazing and the service was great. They even cooked our vegetarian sausages separately from the meat ones. The rooms were very clean, with no complaints from us. I'd recommend it to everyone.

The hostess was really friendly, and the room was clean with a comfy bed. The place is dated, though, and the decor throughout needs modernising. It's a budget B&B that works for one night. My room had a tiny ensuite: no hot water from the sink tap, and it was too small to get my head under to rinse my mouth. The shower was okay, but there was mould on the sealant.
