The countryside walks were exceptional, and the friendly, helpful locals added to the trip. We stayed as a family of three in Red Squirrel Cottage, which was beautifully equipped and made for a memorable family holiday. David and Sally welcomed us warmly, and the location was a superb base for exploring.
The Garden Cottage was a great self-catering place, with a lovely setting and plenty of wildlife to watch. It was spotlessly clean, and the toiletries, kitchen equipment and furnishings were all superb. Sally and David were perfect hosts.
The walking tips from David and Sally were great, especially Glen Tilt, and the house felt tucked away while still being close to everything. We loved the peaceful grounds, where we even spotted the elusive pine martin. Inside, our room was comfortable and well equipped. Fires were lit when we came in at night and again at breakfast, with classical music playing and a wonderful homemade meal. We had an incredible, relaxing stay and hope to come back.
Comfortable beds, a lovely breakfast and good hosts made this beautiful house a real pleasure. It’s in a perfect spot, and I’d give the comfort a 10/10.
There’s a gift shop and tea room in this beautiful house, set among superb grounds. The place has plenty of history too.
