Copthorne Hotel Plymouth

The staff, from managers to cleaners, were friendly and helpful, always with a smile. The evening restaurant was a lovely surprise, with excellent food at very reasonable prices, and breakfast was hot, tasty and varied. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable for our four-night stay. The over-bath shower was a little awkward, but there was plenty of hot water and the towels were lovely. My friend and I had an excellent time. Thank you!

I liked the location and managed to find a parking space, though the parking was tight. The club room voucher for a drink and the drinks in the fridge were a nice touch, especially with how hot the room was. I barely slept and ended up with a headache, so I can't rate it above three stars. The room stayed hot all night, even after I ran the fan and left the windows open for hours. The fan was too noisy to keep on, and it wasn't even warm outside. The fridge kept switching on and off, and I could hear a general buzzing from appliances in neighbouring rooms all night. Room service breakfast arrived later than requested, and the hot food wasn't hot, with some parts cold. The toast and hash brown were soggy and cold from steaming under the covers. I'd stay for work again because of the location and easy access, but I'd ask the hotel to open the windows and switch on the fan before I arrive. I wouldn't order room service breakfast again, and I'll bring earplugs next time. The hotel could provide them too.

JoJo did a fantastic job getting our room ready. Everything was set up just right, from the cooler for drinks to the ironing board, iron and hangers. The service was brilliant and they took care of what we needed. The location was great too, within walking distance of shops, attractions, the city centre, train station and, most importantly, the pubs. I'd go back.

I thought the hotel was lovely and would definitely stay again. It's close to everything, with a Sainsbury's just a 30-second walk away that leads down to a shopping centre and then into the city centre. I don't really understand the complaints about the room style. People should be grateful to have a roof over their heads, since many don't get that chance, instead of complaining that rooms are dated. Getting around was really easy.
