Penventon Park Hotel

My new husband and I got married at Penventon yesterday, and everyone made the whole day feel ten times more special. We started planning with Sally and continued with Jacquelyn, and every detail was meticulously arranged. On the day, the staff checked in regularly, had the food ready on time, and were attentive and supportive throughout. They even surprised us with mimosas that morning and all the breakfast food we could have wanted. The next morning, they set up a separate place for us to sit with the guests who’d stayed overnight. We’re so grateful to everyone for their organisation and kindness. You’re fantastic, and if you’re getting married, this is the place to do it! The food was absolutely fantastic too.

The single room, 126, was extremely cramped, and it was hard to get in and out of the shower cubicle. The mattress was very soft, there was no blackout at the window, and the bedroom lighting was poor. I also found food debris around my feet at the dinner table, and the wall and fittings beside it were dirty. I’d stay again, but definitely not in a single room, sadly the only option. The property has a nice old-world feel and gardens, the staff gave good service, the restaurant food was good, the room bathroom was bright and modern, and the WiFi was excellent.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower was nicely hot. The hotel was quite nice overall, but the room had noticeable marks on the curtains, floor, and even the cushion. For the price, cleanliness and upkeep weren’t really up to standard. I’d recommend checking third-party booking sites, since they can be significantly cheaper than booking directly.

The beach location was lovely, and I was pleased that the building work behind the hotel wasn’t audible with the patio doors shut. My room at Penventon Park Hotel was spacious and on the ground floor, so there was plenty of room for my two dogs. They were welcomed too, and housekeeping left everything spotless each day. The staff were courteous and friendly, and the food was fantastic with a good choice on the menu. A lovely stay in every way, and I’d happily recommend it.
