Glynhill Hotel

The food was delicious throughout, from the hot, freshly served meal at the tribute night to breakfast the next morning. We were at the Glynhill hotel Renfrew from Friday to Sunday for the event, our first visit, and had a fantastic time. Even with around 200 people there, the meal was served professionally. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was spotless. I’ll definitely be back.

The afternoon tea was lovely, and the waiter was friendly. The leisure staff were nice too. The pool was cold but okay, while the sauna and steam room were great. The spa treatment was a different story. I’ve never had a massage with so little pressure; it felt more like a back rub and was the worst massage I’ve had. I wouldn’t be surprised if their masseuse had called in sick and someone from food and beverage covered the bookings, though I don’t know that for sure. We’d booked the deal mainly for the massage, and were so disappointed that we booked another one elsewhere a few days later. I’d go back for afternoon tea, but I wouldn’t do another deal there or recommend the spa treatments. Avoid the spa.

The rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms spotless, and breakfast the next morning had a huge range to choose from. The bar prices were reasonable too. My family of 12 has just celebrated Hogmanay at The Glynhill for the eighth year in a row, apart from one year we missed because of Covid. The staff were wonderful again, and even recognized us from past visits. What a team. The Hogmanay Ball is a great night. The hall was tastefully decorated, the band was outstanding, and the waiting staff did a brilliant job. The food was remarkable considering how many guests they were catering for. Everyone at The Glynhill did a first class job. If you haven’t tried it at Hogmanay, you’re missing out. See you again for Hogmanay 2027!

The therapists were so attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. We both left feeling relaxed and refreshed after the spa day. Afternoon tea was lovely too, and they catered for us as vegetarians. We’ll be back. Highly recommend.
