Friendly staff and good food were the only reasons for the three stars. We stayed at the YHA Salisbury with our class on a school trip, but the hostel wasn’t what we’d hoped for, and the building badly needs renovation. Our room had drafty windows, and the one in our room wouldn’t close properly, so cold air came in when it was raining. A piece of the white wooden wall had broken off and was left on the floor. There were no electrical outlets, and just one storage shelf for a five-bed room. One classmate’s mattress had blood and urine stains, which we only spotted when we had to change the sheets ourselves.
