The Q Hotel

The lobby and breakfast room are lovely, the staff are great, and the pool looked nice. The location is terrific too. My bed was comfortable, but the room itself was tiny and the decor was appalling. Hot water took five minutes to reach the shower. The wallpaper choice was actually quite nice, but the application was terrible, and whoever did the painting needs to finish the job. The rooms aren’t up to much at all.

Breakfast was tasty, and the convenient location made getting around easy. The hotel felt clean, cared for, and relaxing. The staff were genuinely friendly and ready to help, which made my lovely stay at Q Hotel in Shanklin even better. I’d happily recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable stay on the Isle of Wight.

The pool was a lovely bonus, with sunshine on it for much of the day, and the walk to the seafront took about five minutes. The charming town centre was another five minutes on foot, while a viewpoint just a couple of minutes away made for a recommended early start to see the sunrise. We were warmly welcomed and shown to spacious, clean, well-equipped rooms. We were lucky to have a sea view, which was a highlight. Everyone on staff was excellent and our conversations with them were brilliant throughout. I’ll remember the laughs at the bar and the owner’s great suggestion of mermaid spiced rum with ginger beer. Our family had a memorable stay at the Q Hotel. We had a fantastic time and won’t hesitate to stay here again when we return to the Isle of Wight. Thanks for a memorable holiday!

The gardens and pool area are immaculate, and the owners made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was superb, with gluten-free options well catered for. The hotel is partway through renovations. Once they’re finished, it’ll be amazing. A great location and well worth a visit. I’m sure we’ll come back!
