The Rowborough is a real gem, reasonably priced and an easy distance from Shanklin town centre and the seafront. My husband and I have just had a short break there and already plan to return. Michelle and Caroline looked after us so well and made us feel very welcome. They're excellent hosts, the room was clean and comfortable, and both breakfast and evening meals were delicious. Thank you both for such a lovely stay.

The bright, well-furnished communal conservatory at the front was a lovely place to relax. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the hygiene standards throughout were excellent. Breakfast came with so much care and attention. Michelle and Caroline were wonderful hosts, making us feel more like friends visiting than hotel guests. Nothing felt like too much trouble. I'd happily recommend this place. Most of the other guests seemed to be regulars who return year after year.

A clean room, parking, and a good location made this a great base for exploring the Isle of Wight. The high street, with a range of restaurants, is about a 10-15 minute walk away. We'll definitely come back if we're on the island again. The breakfast was another highlight. Each morning they made a high-quality full English, with cereals, grapefruit, juices, tea, and really good coffee too. It was filling enough that we only needed a light lunch, leaving us more time to explore. Michelle and Caroline are fantastic hosts, warm and positive at pretty much any time of day. Staying at The Rowborough felt like being at relatives' home after not seeing them for ages. They also gave us useful itinerary tips. Ask them where to spot red squirrels, though I can't remember which one gave us the tip. We followed it and saw two, and it made for a great walk. Their suggestion for a scenic drive to the Needles, taking a different route from Google's, was easily one of our trip highlights.

We stayed as a family over the Easter holidays in Aprl 2022 and were pleasantly surprised by how welcoming and friendly this small hotel was, and how clean it was too. Michelle and Caroline suggested lovely places to visit on the Isle of Wight and cooked a fantastic breakfast every morning, remembering what each of us liked and didn't like. They really have the hotel running like clockwork. We're looking forward to coming back! 😎

Caroline and Michelle made our return trip to the Isle of Wight so easy. They booked the ferry as well as our room, and found us a great price. The welcome was as warm as ever, and the hotel was comfortable, beautifully presented, and impeccably clean. Breakfast was just as good as we remembered. Overnight oats are a great new addition, and the tea and coffee came exactly how we like them. The hosts had good suggestions for places to visit this time, and we were lucky with the weather. We really recommend Carisbrooke Castle, especially the adorable donkeys, and the walk from Shanklin to Ventor is a great way to stretch your legs on a sunny day. The Rowborough is a great base for making the most of the island, and Michelle and Caroline are the best hosts. Book soon, as it looks like another busy season for them!
