Mosborough Hall Hotel, BW Signature Collection

For my 60th birthday celebration, I used Darcy’s Bar at the hotel. The events team answered my questions promptly and were very helpful while I was arranging the venue. On the day, Angela, Elizabeth and Zoe were excellent behind the bar, friendly and attentive, and happy to help with anything. My husband and I send them a huge thank you.

The staff do all they can for you, and the food is good. But I was very disappointed with the room and bed on this overnight business stay. I’d stayed before and booked an Executive Room between meetings. The decor looked like the 1970s or 80s, and the furniture and decorating needed replacing. I should have asked for another room, but when I returned to reception I heard the hotel was full. I just mentioned that the desk chair seat had lost its padding.

We stayed for Valentine’s night on Friday with our assistance dog and had no problem getting a restaurant table that evening. The food wasn’t good: my kebab was overcooked, and my partner’s steak was flash fried. Dessert was fine. On Saturday morning, we were given a table in the bar and ended up disagreeing with a staff member because our dog is a registered assistance dog. They eventually let us sit in the restaurant. Staff need training in how to handle assistance dogs.

We’ve spent Christmas here for the last five years and have never been disappointed. The rooms are a little small, but they’re warm, clean and comfortable. They left a lovely Christmas gift outside our door on Christmas morning, and the hotel is very dog friendly.
