St Nicholas Boutique Hotel

The location was great, and the man in charge was friendly. My husband and I had looked forward to staying here, but a few things let it down. The bed was comfortable and the room clean, though there was only one bedside table. The bathroom vent needed a really thorough clean, and we would have liked a bin in there. It's awkward having to carry used feminine products to the main bedroom bin. The toiletries were just conditioner, so we had to ask for shower gel.

The gentleman who welcomed me also served breakfast, and he was attentive throughout. He was a real asset to the hotel, looking after my mother and me very well. My room was comfortable, though the fridge kept buzzing and the tea tray sitting on top of it didn't help me sleep. It needs its own table. The room was cute, but only accessible by lift. I got a bit lost returning after a few drinks, so they could use some directions in the lift, especially as there's no receptionist at night.

We were newly married and let the hotel know in advance. They left rose petals, a card, chocolates, decorations and a bottle of wine for us at no extra cost, such a lovely gesture. The staff were generous and helpful, and the service was impeccable. The hotel is incredible, modern but still has its historic feel, and the location is beautiful. Our room was lovely, and the view is worth paying extra for. The food was delicious and surprisingly affordable. There are so many things to do nearby. Thanks for such an incredible stay, I'll recommend it to everyone I know!

We ate in the downstairs bistro and had an excellent meal. The lamb kebab had superb quality meat, and the service was friendly and first class. I'll certainly go again.
