The food alone would make this worth visiting. The traditional British dishes were expertly done, and my extremely generous five course dinner was better than many fancy places in London. Breakfast was fresh and delicious too, even the haggis. I hadn't expected the food to be so good, and I'm glad I didn't skip dinner. The staff were all friendly, cheerful and welcoming. Corsewall Lighthouse is a hidden gem, combining a cosy hotel and fabulous restaurant with a working lighthouse. I visited in late February, when the dramatic sky and roaring wind around the lighthouse made for a wonderfully soothing night's sleep. The surrounding scenery is striking, and exploring the stark coast before coming back to the warmth of the hotel was lovely. My room and the restaurant, bar and communal areas all felt snug and welcoming. Photos taken by the owner are displayed throughout, adding history alongside convenience and home comforts. I hope the owners get permission to give tours of the actual lighthouse one day, which would make the experience flawless. If you want a remote, relaxing stay on the Scottish coast, enjoy good food and can get to the area, it's hard to top.

Dinner was world class. We booked the fixed price menu and loved every course, especially the salmon appetizers. Breakfast was lovely too, and we appreciated the personal suggestions for trying local whiskey. The owner's landscape and wildlife photos are displayed all around the historic building. We only stayed one night, but it was the highlight of our Scotland trip. The property is beautiful, and we enjoyed walking around by the waterfront. We spotted a few seals, their little heads bobbing in the waves. Our room was lovely and very clean, with all the necessities and some nice extras, including sparkling and still water. A perfect stay!

The setting was stunning, the food amazing, and the owners and staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had a beautiful weekend away at Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel and would happily return. Highly recommended.

The location is beautiful, and the food was outstanding. Our accommodation was warm, comfortable and clean, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I'd recommend Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel to anyone.

We were looked after so well, from the welcome right through to saying goodbye. Thank you, Helen, John and the team for creating such a special experience. We spent a fabulous night at the Corsewall Lighthouse to celebrate my birthday. The lonely, windswept lighthouse and landscape made a striking backdrop, while inside everything felt authentic and still suited to modern expectations. We love fine food and were very impressed by dinner. Breakfast was just as delicious. We'd highly recommend it.
