Stratford Manor Hotel

We found the price good for what the hotel offers, and I'd consider coming back. It's set in the countryside just outside Stratford-upon-Avon, so it felt peaceful, with plenty of free parking on site. The staff were welcoming throughout. There are lots of facilities, including an indoor pool, sauna, steam or heat room, gym, pool table and cinema rooms. The room had a fridge stocked with water and drinks, snacks, coffee and a Nespresso machine, which felt like a nice luxury. A few things could be better: the room furniture looked worn and dated, and the bathroom door made a quirky noise that got a bit annoying. I only found out at checkout that the hotel allows pets. Dedicated pet-friendly rooms would be helpful, since some guests may have allergies. Even with those minor issues, I'd recommend it.

The spa ladies gave me a very relaxing head, neck and shoulder massage. I also enjoyed an afternoon tea and spa day at the leisure centre. The pool was clean, and they provided clean robes and towels. There was a nice sauna and steam room, plus a good-sized gym. Afternoon tea looked lovely and came with lots of delicious servings. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated, the restaurant looked good, and the grounds were beautiful. It's easy to find, with plenty of free parking for guests. The staff were helpful and nice. I had a lovely three or four hours there.

We spent a few really lovely days here. The surroundings were relaxing, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding, and it was great having the spa area, a games room for the kids and even a cinema room. There were coach groups and families staying while we were there, but it still felt quiet and never too busy or noisy. It's close enough to the main roads while still being peaceful, and there are lots of places of interest within easy reach.

The welcome on arrival wasn't nice at all. The staff seemed distracted and dismissive. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, but everything felt a bit dated, very Premier Inn-like at twice the price. The bar staff were great, though. We watched Eurovision with them on Saturday night. The buffet breakfast was fine, but the coffee machines were horrible and temperamental. Stratford is just five minutes away by Uber, which is great.
