The staff and owner were lovely, and the food was nice without being expensive. We booked the pool room and had a fantastic time there. Painswick is a quiet, fabulous village. I'd definitely recommend visiting a rococo gardens, even in winter.

The staff were really welcoming and friendly, and the room was warm and cosy. The restaurant happened to be closed the evening we stayed, but that was fine as we'd planned to go into cheltenham, only a 25-minute drive away. Breakfast was average. I wouldn't recommend the sausages, though my wife really liked her cheese omelette. Parking in town is a total nightmare because the roads are so narrow and hilly. We'd suggest parking on the road by the church or using Stamages Lane Car Park, a pay and display car park that's a five-minute walk away and free on Sundays.

A quirky, one of a kind guest house, with staff who were friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts and evening meals were great. We'd definitely recommend it and are saving up for another visit!

The food was excellent, cosy corner dining with international fine cuisine I never expected to find in the Cotswolds. For a romantic stroll after dinner, just step outside. There aren't many other options around, so phone ahead or drop by a day in advance, especially in busy periods.

The steak was cooked perfectly and came on a wooden platter with all the trimmings. And the chips were lovely, just proper chips, none of that fancy cooked three times stuff. The printed menu had enough choice, but the specials board was packed with such a tempting range that we struggled to decide. We'll be back to try more of them. This lovely little Bistro felt like restaurants used to: lacy tablecloths, real napkins, and a great atmosphere. The waitress and Chef are Rumanian, and both were lovely and attentive, making sure everything was right. Even the chef came into the restaurant to check we were happy with our meal. Congratulations to the owners, they've got a real gem in an otherwise very quiet village.
