The food was up to usual Wetherspoons standards, and I’d stay again. Parking is available outside for short stays, free from 6pm to 8am, or at mill gate for longer stays at £6.40 a day. The bed was comfortable, though the rooms are a little outdated. The bathroom could use refurbishment, with stained flooring and a floor that slopes away from the bath because it’s a listed building. The shower was decent once I figured it out from the sticker instructions above the toilet. There was tea, coffee, and biscuits in the room, plus a hairdryer in the wardrobe and a decent TV. The staff were the highlight of this delightful, characterful place, really attentive, enthusiastic, and clearly focused on customers, unlike other places. A great stop on the way home to Somerset from Northumberland. High-five to Natalie and Phoebe and Norma x

Always a pleasure to pop into the Three Tuns. Hugh, Courtney, and Phoebe are a great bunch, polite and friendly, and they go out of their way to help. It’s nice to be served by people who seem to genuinely enjoy their work and make you feel welcome without being stiff or formal. It really improves the atmosphere. Cheers, guys! 🙂

The Three Tuns in Thirsk has really friendly staff. I don’t know how Wetherspoons keeps the food and drinks so cheap while still making them good quality. The app’s handy too, since you can order from your table and have things brought over without queueing.

Breakfast was great, and the food was decent. Parking takes a bit of planning: you can leave the car outside Three Tuns for free from 6 pm to 8 am, then move it to the long-stay car park a few minutes away. There are also two-hour spaces outside, with the first hour free. Just avoid parking by the hotel on Saturday morning because the market is on. A lovely place for a few nights.
