The Sunday lunch was the nicest I’ve had in a long time. We met up with old friends who were visiting the UK, and the staff gave us a lovely welcome. Our fabulous waitress showed us straight to our table and looked after us all afternoon. It’s a lovely country pub with a good choice of wine and other drinks. Thanks for making our reunion special. We’ll definitely be back, and I’d recommend it to others.

Our server was really pleasant, and we had a lovely evening with the family. We were a table of 10 on Wednesday night, seated right by the entrance. The food came freshly made and looked very nicely presented. I had the delicious coq au vin, and my boyfriend’s pie looked amazing.

The veggie roast was amazing, which can be hard to find, and we were especially glad cauliflower cheese came with it since many places charge extra for that side. We dropped in for a Sunday roast on the way home from a weekend trip without a reservation. They had lots of bookings but were happy to find us space. Everyone was so friendly, and we never felt rushed or like a bother. If we’re ever passing that way again, we’d 100% return.

The Purity ales were a nice find, especially since they’re under 4%, and there are other drinks available too. I’ve been to this quaint pub several times, but today I stopped for lunch. The menu changes daily or thereabouts, and I went for the fish and chips. It was a lovely dish, with no delay ordering or getting the meal. The apple crumble was delicious too, and there was a tasty selection of puddings. Service was good, the price was reasonable, and it was fairly busy when I left. They told me they were fully booked, which speaks for itself. I think the old place is 400+ years old, so if you fancy a drink or a tasty meal, and like older establishments, give it a try.
