Southbourne Villa

Karen's hospitality made our visit memorable. She gave us local tips, suggested places to visit and made sure we had what we needed. She was so warm and friendly that it felt like staying with a dear friend. We slept really well in the comfortable, beautifully decorated rooms, which were immaculate. The whole B&B had a cared for, charming feel, and breakfast was a highlight, with freshly prepared choices for every taste. At Southbourne Villa B&B in Torquay, Karen welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived. It was a lovely mix of comfort, quality and heartfelt service. Thank you, Karen, for a memorable stay. Karen is a fantastic host, and nothing is too much trouble for her. The location is very central, the rooms and facilities are good, and breakfast is superb with plenty of choice. I'd highly recommend Southbourne Villa for a great break. Thank you, Karen. Xx

We stayed for three nights and were sorry to leave. Karen was calm, friendly and an amazing host, and Southbourne Villa felt very homely. Everything was clean, and Karen would get top marks on 4 in a bed. We were in room 7, which had a lovely seaside theme, a handy little fridge, an adjustable radiator and plenty of windows that opened. The ensuite shower was double, though not especially powerful. The mattress was a little soft for me, but I did sleep. Our view was of a green little courtyard with birdsong, not the sea, and there was plenty of parking. That walk into Torquay was lovely, though I'd suggest a taxi back. We used Bay Taxi's, which cost around £7-£8. Breakfast was the best we'd ever had, just what we needed after a few drinks the nights before. There was fresh cut up fruit, seeds, nuts, yogurt, cereals, porridge, jams and sauces, plus Karen's delicious handmade whisky marmalade and lemon marmalade. You could choose from several breakfasts and smaller items too. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. Karen has lots of ornaments, antiques and pictures, with some quirky things to look at. Thanks, Karen, we'll definitely come back!

Karen, or Kazza, is the loveliest host we've had in Torquay. Since our first stay, we haven't wanted to choose anywhere else. She is attentive and nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are always immaculate, and breakfast is without fault. I'd definitely recommend Southbourne Villa for any kind of Torquay stay. It beats any other hotel or guesthouse for us, and we always look forward to visiting Karen again!
