We’ve just returned from a great stay at The Shirley. The hosts, Beth and Nick, did all they could to meet our needs, and breakfast was brilliant. Our room had lovely high ceilings and period features. The Greek restaurant shown in the pictures was amazing, and there are plenty of other restaurants and pubs a few minutes away near the marina. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Breakfast was consistently excellent, made with fresh local ingredients and cooked perfectly. Alec and Sophie were warm and helpful, even swapping the cups in our room for proper mugs. Our sunny room was well kept, and the hotel felt homely. It’s within ten minutes of the town centre, which worked perfectly for us. We also loved the two cats wandering around. And you have to peek into the room opposite reception to see the biggest TV you’ll ever come across 😆 We can’t wait to return to The Shirley Hotel. It was our first time in Torquay, but won’t be our last. Thank you, Alec and Sophie. Frank and Jan, Room No.8

Alex and Sophie are fantastic hosts, so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The B&B is full of charm and character, with gorgeous decor, and it was clean and homely. It’s ideally placed for local restaurants and hilly walks, and felt very much like home. Easily the best B&B in the area. I’d highly recommend it and hope to return one day.

The Princess Theatre was an easy 15-minute walk away, so this worked really well as a base for our two nights. Our hosts made us feel at home, and the clean, comfortable room and bathroom had great facilities. Breakfast was superb. We'd happily stay here again when we're back in Torquay.

Breakfast was great, and the whole place is clearly very well run. We had a fantastic weekend at the Shirley. It's only a few minutes on foot to the town and harbour, and our room felt homely as well as being very clean and comfortable. Sophie and Alec were so helpful and accommodating.
