I’d stayed at these apartments before and had a good experience, so this second booking was especially disappointing. I asked to cancel almost a month ahead of check-in. Booking.com told me in writing that the property had to decide whether to refund me, and even recommended that they issue one. The administration ignored the messages. When I contacted the property directly, all they said was to contact Booking.com. That sent me round in circles, even though Booking.com had already said the property must decide. Apparently £300 matters more to them than their reputation. The money isn’t even the main issue for me. It’s the lack of responsibility, transparency and customer service: no communication, no explanation, just passing the problem to someone else. Very disappointing as a returning customer. I wouldn’t recommend booking here, because if something goes wrong, you’ll be left without support.

The breakfast is outstanding, especially the coffee, and it’s easy to find good food nearby thanks to the central location. The room is unusually open and spacious compared with most hotel rooms. Just be aware that parking your car costs $20 per night.

We couldn’t find a single fault at Livin Serviced Apartments Watford. The bed was huge and unbelievably comfortable, and every detail felt just right. Everything was spotless, while the staff were friendly, smiling and extremely helpful. It’s a beautiful place in a convenient spot, just a short walk from the shopping mall and city centre. We’d wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Watford. The stay exceeded all our expectations.

Reception staff were lovely and friendly, and the beds are very comfortable. The rooms have the basic things you need in a serviced apartment. Parking was fine, though I can imagine it gets busy and many spaces are tight. We stayed Thursday to Sunday. On Friday at 8:30am, a huge crane outside our top-floor room started lifting what looked like metal pipes onto the roof. The noise was extreme, and it felt like an earthquake in the room, as if the pipes were being put right on top of us. Being woken by it with no warning wasn’t pleasant. I’d stay again, but reception should warn guests next time, as it brought down the experience.

The apartment was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the location was handy: about five minutes on foot from the shopping centre and train station, and a ten-minute drive to Harry Potter Studio Tour. But I wouldn’t call it “luxury.” There was no air con, which seems strange for a hotel, and the rooms were boiling, like walking into a sauna. Two fans were provided but barely helped, so I hardly slept from the heat. On the second night, people in the next room were having very loud sex. We could hear it down the hall. The walls and doors are so thin that you can hear conversations from rooms while standing in the corridor, as well as toilets flushing. There’s no privacy here. Maybe save the deed for when you’re home. I personally wouldn’t recommend it. For £200 for two nights, I expected air con and thicker walls. 😅
