Seaview Hotel

The breakfast was a real disappointment, well below average, and seemed like it had all been reheated. Tea and toast were fine. The rest of our one-night stay was comfortable: the room was adequate, the beds very comfortable, and the shower fantastic in the morning. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. It was also great to find somewhere so close to the boat where I could bring my puppy.

The food was lovely and freshly cooked to order. Breakfast was okay, and the pizzas were lovely. It’s pet friendly at £10. We stayed two nights in this well-located little hotel, but our room badly needs updating. The king-size bed was comfortable, though its base was two beds pushed together. The 14-inch TV was stuck up in a corner, so it was hard to see what channel it was on. The decor felt straight out of Upstairs, Downstairs, and the bathroom was so tiny I had to close the door to get to the toilet. The shower was amazing, and the radiators were boiling, which was lovely coming in from the cold.

Most of the staff served us with a smile. The receptionist was very direct, almost as if she’d come from military school. I was given a small, clean room with two single beds, but the toilet hadn’t been cleaned and there was barely any toilet paper for a new arrival. A bit sad.

Abigail gave us a warm welcome and looked after us at check-in and over dinner. The dinner was VERY good, and there must be a good cook in the kitchen (Sept 2025). The hotel seems to get an awful lot of one-night stays. Our room was across the road, but clean and comfortable. The bike store in the garage was very tight and cluttered, though it did the job.
