The kitchen is well equipped, and there’s a decent space to eat or chat in the evening. Add the lovely, expansive views across Windermere and you’ve got a great hostel. Fiona gave me a lovely welcome when I arrived on Sunday night and checked me in early, which I really appreciated. It meant I could get my run up Wansfell done before dark. This was my second stay at the welcoming YHA Windermere, and it was great again. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic two-night stay at the YHA Windermere campsite. The friendly staff made us feel welcome, and we got plenty of use out of the extensive facilities and amenities. It’s a great base for exploring the surrounding area and very good value for money.

Thanks for a great stay! The campsite is a beautiful place, with a view over Windermere Lake. Campers can use the bar, lounge and kitchen, and there’s also a separate kitchen and shower block just for them. The facilities were excellent.

The dormitory is spacious, with plenty of well-managed washrooms and showers, and reception was good. They let me store my luggage for free. It’s a bit of a walk to the hotel, but you have to put in some effort to get the better views. Staying at this hostel is an experience not to miss.

The clean room had lovely views, and the shared bathrooms and shower room were very clean too, which was better than I’ve found in places like this before. The staff welcomed us with smiles on arrival and were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout. My 8-year-old son and I had an amazing stay, and the whole experience made our time in Windermere more memorable. I’d definitely recommend it, and I’ll be back next time I’m in Windermere.
