Room 1 was a good size, though the shower ran a little slowly. It was still fine to wash, so not a problem. Parking was perfect, and the location was too. From the moment we arrived, AKA Queen Bee welcomed us and made us feel at home. Breakfast was lovely and enough for us. Our mini trip was amazing from start to finish, a 10/10 stay. The rooms were large, quiet and very comfortable, and the guesthouse was spotless. Breakfasts were great, though the timing was a little late for catching a tour. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's handy for the city centre, but also near a peaceful river walk with lots of trees and birdsong. A lovely, well-appointed place that I'd highly recommend.

Caroline, the manager, welcomed us and was about as friendly, helpful and engaging as anyone could be. Our room was airy, clean and amazing. A short, beautiful walk along the canal gets you to York centre, so the location worked perfectly. We loved staying here, and started our first morning in England with an amazing full English breakfast in the cute dining area.

Caroline was lovely and exceptionally helpful, and breakfast was lovely too. Room 10, right at the top, was quiet, with a very comfortable bed. The guesthouse sits on a peaceful terrace, a short walk beside the river into the city. Parking is right outside and costs £15 a day, which is good for this area. A very friendly experience.

The staff made the stay special. From arrival to the end, they made us feel welcome and thoroughly looked after, and the service was excellent. Our room was just the right size, with a really comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely and set us up well for sightseeing. The safe parking space was also a big bonus, available to purchase. St Mary’s Guest House is on a quiet residential street, a short walk from the city centre. It's just the right place for a York visit, and we'll book it again next time.
