The biggest problem was how little the management company communicated. Emails often went unanswered, and serious concerns didn't seem to get much attention. My girlfriend lived at Castle Chambers, and I saw how stressful the situation became for her. From the start, she faced persistent damp and mould, appliance problems, and even stretches without hot water. These issues kept happening and were never properly resolved. Based on what I witnessed, I'd advise anyone considering the building to be cautious. It was a very disappointing experience.

We had a two bedroom apartment with an ensuite and a main bathroom. The lifts served every floor, and the wide doors made it accessible for people with disabilities. It was clean and quiet, right in the centre of York. I'd definitely recommend these apartments.

The location in York is perfect, and the apartment looks nice, but the cleanliness was a real letdown. The plates, cutlery, cooking equipment, kettle, floor and carpet were filthy and looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in a while. The shower nozzles in both rooms were disgusting, with dirt and fungi on them. I felt dirty after showering and got ill afterwards. When I complained, the reply made it seem as though they didn't care and suggested I should have called out an emergency cleaner. That left me feeling they knew about the cleaning issues but expected guests to deal with them, without taking responsibility. If they paid attention to cleanliness and took ownership, this could be a decent place to stay.

There's public parking nearby, and the accommodation is very close to York downtown and the main attractions. The sitting room is spacious and the kitchen has the tools you need. It's self catering, and well worth what I paid. I'd like to stay here on every visit.

Stay's of York has modern, very clean self catering apartments in the city centre. There are one and two bedroom options, some with an ensuite. They work well for anything from a single night to a full week.
