I was so grateful when the owner drove at least 30 minutes to bring me my suitcase. While I was distracted caring for my crying grandson, I'd accidentally left it at the bus stop outside Manor Farm and only realised once I got to York. I called, and he didn't hesitate to help. That sort of kindness and generosity is rare. The B&B itself was quiet and relaxing, in a peaceful area, and only a five-minute walk from my daughter's home, which was a real blessing. My room was spotless and well kept, with its own bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The hosts were a lovely, welcoming couple who introduced themselves and even carried my suitcase upstairs when I arrived. The local pub is conveniently close. I enjoyed the food and a friendly chat with the owner there. Thank you for such lovely hospitality and for all your help.

We had a good night's sleep in the two-bedroom apartment over the bank holiday weekend, and the shower was wonderful in the morning. It was just the right size, with all the self-catering facilities we needed. The host was friendly, and the location was peaceful, with a few pubs within walking distance.

We got another night here, and I'm still loving it. The owners, Janet and Kevin, are so friendly and helpful. We're in a one-bedroom self-contained cottage, where all you need to bring is your own personal stuff. Definitely coming back.

The guest station on the landing was a thoughtful touch, with a fridge stocked with milk for tea and bottled water, plus shelves of spare towels and toilet roll. The breakfast room was unique, probably the most stunning one I've seen in a B&B. We spent two lovely nights in the Luxury room, just the sort of room I wanted in York, and at a reasonable price. The amenities were great, and we plan to stay here whenever we're in the area. It's about a 25-minute drive from the city, with fairly regular buses and a few local pubs nearby, so it's convenient and quiet. We highly recommend The Mended Drum for dinner. It's about 20 minutes west and worth the trip. Book ahead!

The gardens were lovely, with plenty of tables and seats where we could enjoy the good weather. The studio was exactly what we wanted, very clean, and had everything needed for self-catering. It's easy to find in a peaceful, quaint village, with plenty of places still close enough to visit. A great base for getting around, then coming back to peace and quiet. We booked at the last minute for two nights, and the hosts were extremely helpful both with the booking and during our stay. They also gave us lots of useful local information.
