It’s an easy walk to the centre and Minister, with bars and places to eat just steps away. The rooms were spotless and the beds comfortable. There were plenty of thoughtful extras, including toiletries, tissues, unlimited tea and coffee, bottled water and even Netflix. I emailed ahead and the helpful staff let us drop our bags before check-in. There’s a no-alcohol policy, but that didn’t bother us. I’d happily stay again.

We chose it for the location, and our basic family room worked well for one night with five of us, so close to the city. The main downside was having to climb five flights of stairs. Parking is good value if you’re lucky enough to get a space. We weren’t, so we had to unload the whole car and carry the boot contents up to the top of the guest house without help.

The staff were very accommodating and let us leave our bags before check-in and again after check-out, since our train home wasn’t until the afternoon. The room was a little small, but clean, with nice extras like water, tea and biscuits. It’s a great spot, about a 20-minute walk from the train station and five minutes from some lovely shops. I’d definitely recommend it.

Priya was especially helpful when I called to say I might be late for check-in. She talked me through all the details, and everything went smoothly. I stayed two nights and really enjoyed it. The room was clean, cosy, comfortable and well looked after.
