Parking on site is available, and it’s useful since finding a spot in the neighborhood can be tricky. We spent two lovely days here in a neatly decorated double room. Greg and Heidi were kind hosts and gave us helpful tips, and breakfast was excellent. The guest house is well placed for exploring York, with the centre about a 15-minute walk away.

They let us leave the car here early, before check-in, which was really kind. Our room was spacious, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was an incredibly hot day, so they brought us a fan. The shower was hot, too. A lovely, hospitable stay!

For the price, this was hard to beat. There were three of us, with a twin room and a single. I only saw my own single room, so can’t speak for the others, but I’d happily stay there again when travelling alone. It was clean and quiet at night, in a decent neighbourhood, and felt safe and secure. The bed was comfortable, which are the main things for me, and Moorgarth got those right. The hosts welcomed us warmly and had our parking space ready. Book it ahead, and they’ll explain where to leave the car during your stay. My room was a dormer on the second floor, the third floor for this American, with a sloped ceiling that meant ducking as I moved around the bed. For a small extra charge, you could choose cooked or continental breakfast. We each had the continental both mornings: cereal and milk, toast, orange juice, proper coffee from a one-cup French press, and yogurt. The room also had a kettle with instant coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

Heidi gave me a lovely welcome, and my room was warm, clean and had everything I needed. Greg and Heidi are lovely hosts, and the guest house is beautiful and really close to central York. I’ll be back, as I still need to try the breakfast they offer. Anyone looking for a guesthouse should stay here xx

The room felt homely and was both clean and comfortable. The host was friendly and helpful, and the guest house is perfectly placed, just minutes from central York and the main attractions. I’m glad I found it and would definitely stay again. Five stars from me, and I’d recommend it to others. Thanks, Moorgarth, for a great stay in a wonderful city!
