There's a bus stop outside if you don't fancy the roughly 20-minute walk into York centre. We stayed one night and were very comfortable. The room had what we needed, including a kettle with tea and coffee. We didn't try breakfast, so can't comment on it.

The rooms have been newly refurbished and are excellent. The only drawback was the feeble, intermittent Wi-Fi.

We've got a tiny room full of charm and character in this beautiful little hideaway hotel. It's close to everything you'd want, and the staff are wonderful and really accommodating. It's amazing, and we'll definitely stay here again. 👏 Donna & John. Australia 🇦🇺

We booked two nights. First impressions were lovely, and we parked the car and walked into York. We couldn't check in until 4, though. Once we got back and went to room 12, it was clear the place needed some care. The shower head needed cleaning, the shower door was coming away at the bottom, and I had to turn on the sink tap before the shower would work. Then someone who works there walked straight into the room without knocking while I was standing there in my boxer shorts. I've got photos of other things if you'd like to see them.

This was very poor accommodation and overpriced. The carpet and shower were dirty, and the curtain rail was coming off the wall. It isn't a hotel or B&B anymore, just a room with door codes for check-in, and it's very run down. The reviews must be from the previous owners.
