The location is excellent, and the price feels worth it. Staff were friendly too. The shared laundry items should be even cleaner than things at home, but many were unkempt, with bloodstains, other stains, and hair. There's no soundproofing at all. There wasn't an electric kettle in the room, though there was a hot water purifier in the hallway. They provided two sets of toothpaste and toothbrushes, but one was just an empty bag.
We stayed here because we had a morning train, and the hotel is just one elevator ride from the station. Still, I would have much rather stayed farther down the road than wait an hour to get back inside after midnight. The hotel is in City Mall, and finding the entrance was a bit difficult. Once the mall closes at 10pm, you can't just walk in. You have to ring the bell at the mall entrance and wait for someone to come get you. We waited an hour after midnight. If you plan to explore Tblisi after 10pm, this is the wrong hotel. The room size and layout were about what you'd expect from a mall hotel meant to be close to the station, and the view was decent. I still wouldn't recommend it, even for an early train.
The room was a nice experience for the price, 78 GEL per night. It was clean, looked just like the photos, and had basic things like a toothbrush, soap, shower gel, and shampoo. A hair dryer was available, but there was no kettle or iron. The area itself isn't great, though there are plenty of things nearby downstairs, including a supermarket, market, metro, and train station. I really liked the view from my room and would strongly recommend booking one with a mountain or city view.
After the main mall had closed, I came to the hotel and rang the bell at night, but nobody answered. No one had told us about the mall's closing time either. The next day, our room had no electricity, so we spent the whole night and day without power until checkout.
There's only one way in and out, through the center of the train station, and it closes at midnight. Believe it or not, you can't leave if you need to. The rooms feel like old train station offices repurposed as a hotel. They're too small and cold, smell of cigarettes, and barely have curtains, so there's no privacy. The bed is awful and makes loud noises with any movement. I'm an average-sized person, and I can only imagine how it would be for a couple or a heavier person. I've stayed in some bad hotels, but this one takes the prize as the worst ever.
