AIA Hotel

I stayed at this hotel for a month. The owner and his family run the place, share their stories, and are always kind and helpful. They made me feel at home, and the staff were understanding and very helpful throughout. I was welcomed politely and warmly. I also saw them renovating the rooms during my stay, and afterward the rooms felt much cozier and brighter.

The location is great, within walking distance of wonderful restaurants and tourist sights. Zura and his son helped us get a SIM card, explained how it worked, and suggested transport options. They even took us on a sightseeing day trip. Zura treated us like family, with smiles and genuine Georgian hospitality, and we came back for a second stay because he was so friendly.

We stayed six days and five nights, and Mr. Zura was hands-on and caring about anything we needed. We felt comfortable and secure, and the welcome was so warm. His family has made a home for everyone here. You should sit and talk with him over breakfast or another time, his stories are beautiful to hear. The location is great for getting around to tourist spots. Trinity Cathedral is just a few steps away, and old Tbilisi, freedom square, Rustaveli, botanical garden, mother of Georgia, and other places are about a 20-25 minute walk for a slow walker like me. Please try booking with them. It feels like home, and I’m sure you’ll love them.

My first stay in January 2023 was for two days, and I found the room conditions uncomfortable, the staff had language barriers, and I had issues with the charges. I had a much better time on my second visit to Georgia. I arrived in Tbilisi very late and booked here again. The receptionist recognized me and greeted me warmly. The rooms had all been upgraded, which was great. We’d booked a room without a balcony but were given a free upgrade to one with a balcony. Staff who hadn’t understood English on my first visit spoke it very well this time and were friendly with guests. An older gentleman also helped with our luggage, which I hadn’t seen on the previous stay. Breakfast was another big improvement. Last time the hotel didn’t offer it, so I had to walk to Avlabari metro station early in the morning in the snow. This time breakfast was served at the hotel, which was easier and more comfortable for guests. My impression had been very poor after the first visit, but the second stay was so pleasant and the staff so friendly. I’m not quite sure about the electronic thing attached to the TV, though. I’d highly recommend this hotel and will delete my previous review!
