Glarros Oldtown

Gastromania has a glass atrium and serves a mix of Georgian and European dishes. Its coffee machine is a vintage Italian model, and the beans are top quality. The lobby has a fresh lemon scent, a brass staircase, and mosaic art inspired by Georgian architecture, giving it an elegant feel without being too fancy. There's also a quiet outdoor patio for a drink and a rest after a long day of walking. The location is right in the heart of Old Tbilisi, a short walk from Liberty Square, restaurants, shops, and tourist spots. Rooms are spacious and very clean, with stylish design, comfortable beds, working air-conditioning, and high-quality toiletries. The sheets and lobby were spotless, the bed linens were even scented, and housekeeping did a great job. Staff at the 24/7 reception were polite and spoke English. They helped with early check-in and offered free breakfast when there was a delay. Breakfast has Georgian and European choices, including fresh coffee, fruit, eggs, and pastries. It's not a huge buffet, but there's enough to start the day well. For work, there's a small meeting room and a business corner with iMacs available 24/7. Wi-Fi is fast and free.

Breakfast had plenty of variety, and the restaurant staff were friendly. The location is very central, with the main attractions within walking distance. Breakfast doesn't start until after 08:00, which is inconvenient if you're leaving early. I had booked a high-floor room with an open view in advance, and even asked if I could pay extra to reserve it. Instead I got a very small room facing the internal patio, with a large window onto a corridor used by guests and staff. The curtains had to stay shut 24/7, and the view felt like sleeping in an office building. The room was basic, and the hotel's design is problematic. I'd avoid rooms facing the patio. The front desk didn't seem to care about my requests and tried to tell me that was the room I'd booked. They only found me another room the next day after I made clear I would leave. The hotel replied to my messages, but didn't follow through. Shower pressure and temperature were also unstable and kept changing.

The front desk lady was especially helpful, and the staff made our family feel comfortable throughout our stay. They arranged a baby crib for us and let us check out late, which we really appreciated. We were very happy with the stay. Thank you for the lovely hospitality.

The only thing I'd change is the bed cover and blanket, which were nylon and would be more comfortable in cotton. Otherwise, the rooms were beautiful, spacious, and comfortable, and the food was delicious. The location is amazing, right downtown and close to everything, and we had an excellent stay.
