Hotel Elesa Wera

Laila, the owner, was friendly and nice, but the room itself was in poor shape. It was damp and mouldy, smelled dusty, and I coughed all night. Cleaning seemed limited to the bare minimum, with the bedding changed. There was almost no sound insulation. At night I could clearly hear someone using the toilet upstairs and people talking. The thin windows didn’t close properly, so traffic and young people shouting outside came straight in. I didn’t sleep. The early check-in situation also felt greedy. Staff came into my room to make the bed for the next guest before 2pm, and I found the cleaner there with my things spread around. I had planned to check out at 12:05, only five minutes after checkout time, and told the woman at reception I’d be back for 12.

We felt at home during our stay. The location worked well for us, and we really enjoyed the breakfasts. The hotel was clean and pleasant, and the hosts made us feel welcome and cared for. We had a great time there.

The service fell well short of what I expect from a hotel, and breakfast was extremely basic. Even after I asked for cleaning, the shower was still filthy. The room was outdated, dirty, and badly maintained, with mould in the bathroom and very old, low-quality bedding and towels. The hotel was nothing like its photos. It sits beside a busy, noisy road, and the old windows don’t shut properly, so you hear everything. A huge disappointment. I’d never stay again, 1/10.

I come back here every time I’m in Tbilisi, and it’s still the best hotel for me. The owners are hospitable, breakfast is great, and the street is quiet. I love staying in Vere district. It’s a good base for walking too, with kus tba mtatsminda reachable on a morning walk. It’s a very nice, cosy hotel, and the owners are so kind. Update from 2025: I always stay here.
