Hotel Ethnograph old Tbilisi

The room was small, damp, and poorly ventilated, and the shower wouldn't drain properly. But the worst part was the owner's disregard for paying guests. One night, he held a private party for people who weren't staying at the hotel in the attached bar. With no proper sound insulation, the music and shouting came straight into our room. When we complained, he brushed us off by saying the law allows noise until 11. The party carried on until 11:30, and he only turned the music down after we confronted him in person. By then he was drunk, rude, and condescending, telling us that not everything is perfect when you travel. Running a hotel should mean considering guests' comfort, and this made our stay miserable. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're okay with being treated as an afterthought.

The location is pretty good, but that's about it. The rooms were small and dark, with a strong damp smell, and there was only one breakfast choice, eggs. At checkout they made us pay an extra service charge for breakfast, even though we'd already paid for it. They said the fee was because we'd received a breakfast discount, which made no sense. Greedy owners, wouldn't recommend.

The location is great, but the rooms smelled bad, apparently because of faulty toilet pipes, according to the staff. I asked to move, and the attendant enthusiastically showed me another room, but its cleaning was no better. I found a dead insect in the bathroom, and the shower's water flow was abnormal and needed fixing. Sound also came through the poorly insulated walls from reception. I booked through Booking. After checkout, the booking showed my stay as cancelled. It seemed the hotel may have marked it as though I had cancelled, which felt a bit shady. The hotel needs improvement.

The room had no sunlight, and the floor stayed wet from a plumbing leak. The bed broke, was repaired badly, then broke again around midnight. Breakfast was probably the worst, with not even fresh bread.
