Hotel Liberty Theatre

I only stayed a couple of nights, but the room was roomy, clean, and had everything I needed. The windows faced the park instead of the road, which made it really quiet while I was there. The location worked perfectly for me.

I got no response or hospitality. At 8 pm I asked the reception guy for water, and he said reception was closed until morning. My room still hadn't been cleaned after two days. It costs a lot for what you get, and I don't think it's worth the money.

I wouldn't stay again. The place was clean and modern, and my room had plenty of space, new bedding and towels, a fridge, and a safe table. There was a tolerable but odd plastic-like smell that seemed to come from the wall covering, not sewage. My room wasn't serviced at all during my four nights, either. The location is handy for Freedom Square, though finding the rear car access is awkward, with steps to manage and poor signs. My room was on the first floor, and there's no elevator. You have to go back down to reception to get the Wi-Fi password, and the staff seemed scornful about explaining it. Reception felt strange too, with people hidden behind an unusually high counter. Some staff were young and fine, while others had an old, Soviet-style surliness. It was cheap, so it might suit someone mainly looking for a low price, but I wouldn't recommend it otherwise. It didn't feel like a real hotel or a welcoming place at all. To me, it brought back memories of Moscow in the 1990s.

The staff were nice, and the location is great. The rooms were clean and pleasant, with air conditioning, a safe, and a minibar fridge. The bathroom was fine too, and they even supplied toothbrushes and toothpaste. There is a theater in the same building, so sometimes you can hear the performance in your room. It usually ends after 9 pm. The bigger practical issue is the lack of an elevator in this three-floor hotel, which could be tough for older guests carrying heavy luggage. I also had to go downstairs and ask for the Wi-Fi password, since it wasn't provided in the room or elsewhere.
