The staff were respectful, friendly, and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay. The room was a good size and had a balcony, though the two single beds had been put together even though we’d asked for a double. It’s about a 10 minute drive from the city centre. Breakfast had a limited selection, but was perfect for vegetarians.

The room we were given, Room 208, was extremely cold, had constant lift noise and no city view, and the extra bed for the kids was uncomfortable. Their health was affected by the cold. We’d booked a Family Suite directly on the hotel website for four nights, 17-21 Dec, but on arrival on 17 Dec the hotel refused to provide it. They pushed us to take either a “bigger standard room” or split rooms, neither of which worked for us with two 8-year-old kids. They gave no proper explanation, yet charged the full Family Suite price. We complained daily and asked to speak with the manager, but reception kept saying he had left or hadn’t come, and wouldn’t share his contact details. The reception staff were dismissive and unhelpful. This ruined our family holiday. Not recommended.

I’d prepaid for two nights, but just six hours before check-in the hotel messaged me on WhatsApp to say they couldn’t give me the room because another guest had supposedly had an accident. I believe that was a blatant lie. When I asked for more details, they couldn’t justify it and only repeated that they wouldn’t allocate the room. That left me scrambling to find somewhere else at the last minute and paying an absurdly high price. If you want to avoid that kind of last-minute shock and an unprofessional message from reception, don’t book this property. It’s been my worst hotel experience so far.

Everything felt comfortable and well organised, and we had a wonderful stay. The staff were so warm, welcoming, and friendly that we felt right at home. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend the place.
