Imperial House Hotel

The carpets were disgusting, and the place had a creepy vibe. It felt unsafe, probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. When I asked the receptionist for the AC remote, he told me I should just open the window, lol. He didn’t even try to help with the problem. I’m never going back.

My room didn’t match the one shown online. I booked a particular type and was given something else, and the manager was rude and unwilling to help when I brought it up. The whole place felt dusty, old, and poorly maintained. The kettle was dirty and disgusting, the WiFi was extremely slow, and the TV didn’t work for my entire stay. Even though I’d told staff I was staying six nights, they knocked every morning to ask if I was checking out. One morning they started opening the door while I was asleep, despite the Do Not Disturb sign. I had to shout because they were already coming in. I wanted to switch hotels, but since I’d prepaid the booking on Trip.com, they refused to refund me. This was one of my most stressful and uncomfortable stays. I do NOT recommend it. Avoid this place.

We had a confirmed, prepaid booking for September 25th to 30th, and even paid for the extra night on the 25th so we could check in early on the 26th. But when we arrived at 6:20 AM on the 26th, a staff member said the hotel was overbooked and denied our booking. The man said he was from the administrative department. He was unprofessional and appeared to be under the influence. He refused to help, saying, “I have not taken your booking,” and told us to get a refund for that one day. When we asked him to find another room or contact his manager, he became hostile, abused us, pushed my husband, and demanded that we leave the property. I started recording for our safety, but he tried to snatch my phone and threatened, “Delete the video otherwise I will do something bad.” We were frightened, alone in a new place, and felt forced to delete both the video and its backup. Then he followed us onto the street, screaming and asking where we had sent the video before making us delete it. He also made a racist remark about “Indian hands” and tried to push my husband again. We contacted Agoda right away, but only got an unhelpful chatbot. After a detailed email and a follow-up call, Agoda still hasn’t resolved the issue or refunded us. We’ve never felt so unsafe or traumatized. Avoid this hotel at all costs. The person seemed lean, fair, with small hair, and around 5.6". The property seems conveniently located for getting around, but I suggest avoiding it because it’s unsafe to stay there.

The room wasn’t cleaned for two days. Their idea of cleaning seemed to be replacing the towels and adding toilet paper, and nobody took responsibility for anything. When we checked in, the hotel was dark with no lights on and no one there to help. We waited about 30 minutes for the owner to show up; he didn’t apologize for the condition of the place. The room was dirty, the carpet was dirty, the heater didn’t work, and the Wi-Fi was rubbish. The view was of broken buildings. When we asked for water, the owner told us to drink from the bathroom sink. He took no ownership of the state of the rooms. From the staff and rooms to the location, this hotel was terrible. Please think 100 times before booking here. I don’t understand how people with so little basic etiquette and manners end up running a hotel when they don’t know the H in hospitality.
